JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to an assigned manager, responsible for performing general day to day event set-up/tear-down, custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping duties at the Expo Center. Occasional work assignments at other Williamson County Park locations.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
- Assists in the construction and deconstruction of horse stalls and livestock panels, tables/chairs and other event related items
- Maintains arena footing conditioning
- Cleans and disinfects horse stalls and wash racks
- Cleans and maintains safety standards throughout the event center complex, to include common areas, pedestrian thoroughfares, and seating areas
- Operates a variety of motorized equipment and hand-held tools
- Operates various heavy and light machinery and equipment
- Performs basic maintenance and repairs related to plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, and cleaning
- Inspects and cleans and maintains all equipment and vehicles
- Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment items
- Assists in inventory control
- Mows and trims grass, trees, shrubs, and brush, to include herbicide applications
- Detects, reports, and assists in correcting safety hazards
- Provides direct customer service either in person or on the telephone, to include information regarding the Expo Center and associated operations
- Performs occasional financial transactions such as collecting payments and balancing cash drawers
- Communicates with the office support staff, other county personnel, vendors, and the public, as necessary
- Assists with managing efforts of temporary labor staff and volunteers
- Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
- Performs special duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, heavy lifting up to 100 pounds, and operating equipment
- Position involves safely operating a motor vehicle with and without trailer attachments
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS- Indoor and outdoor work in all environments, including inclement weather (i.e., extreme temperatures, rain, ice, etc.)
- Exposure to outside elements, noise, vibration, dust, fumes and hazardous chemicals, foul odors, animal fecal matter, insects, and rodents
- Exposure to livestock, equine, other animals, and noisy conditions
- Occasional travel between other County work sites
IRREGULAR HOURS - Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required (e.g. first shift, mid shift, late shift and overnight shifts)
- May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - High school diploma or equivalent OR the ability to obtain one within twelve (12) months of employment
- One (1) year of related work experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training
- Demonstrated skill and ability in grounds maintenance, basic landscaping, and basic plumbing
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required within thirty (30) days of employment - Valid driver's license
- Heavy Equipment Safety & Operations certification
Required within six (6) months of employment - Arena Footing certification
- First-Aid and CPR Certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - First Aid & CPR certification
- Pesticide/Herbicide Applicator license
- Prior experience operating tractors, and towing trailers
- Experience with livestock and domestic animals
- Prior experience operating: mowers, trimmers, weed eaters, power washers, tractors and skid loaders with a variety of different attachments, scissor lifts, and sky lifts
- Experience with Equestrian, multiple Livestock breeds and domestic/exotic animals
