We are currently looking for a Campus Security Guard to work overnight shifts throughout our Senior Living Community at The Wesleyan. Experience as a licensed security guard, preferably in a senior living or residential community, along with a acute situational awareness, a calm demeanor in emergency situations, and a committed desire to keep a safe and secure environment for others will be essential to your success as a Campus Security Guard at The Wesleyan.

*** The scheduled shift for this position is 7:00PM-7:00AM with 3 nights on and 3 nights off ***

Essential Job Functions:

• Patrol and monitor activities on the campus's premises regularly to discourage criminal activity and ensure the environment is safe and secure.
• Monitor access to the community, identify suspicious behaviors, and quickly respond to emergency or escalated situations calmly, safely, and appropriately.
• Contact and communicate with the appropriate local and community authorities as needed and as dependent on the situation.
• Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
• Take decisive action in emergency situations including sounding alarms or contacting the police and/or fire departments.
• Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment.
• Report significant incidents, injuries, power failure, unsafe conditions, and security breaches.
• Complete light routine maintenance duties as schedule allows.
• Complete other job tasks or duties as assigned by the Director of Plant Operations and/or the building Administrators.

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• A current valid Texas Security License and a minimum of six months to one year of experience as a licensed security guard, preferably in a senior living or residential community.
• Proven ability to successfully perform security services safely including the ability to de-escalate situations and resolve issues in order to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ability to perform routine foot patrols, moderate lifting, and work in all-weather conditions.
• Ability to stay calm and address the needs of residents, teammates, or visitors during emergencies.
• Must have a reliable method of communication and transportation.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age, be able to successfully pass a criminal background screening, and be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Must have a service-minded approach to all aspects of the job.
• A passion for working within a senior living community is a plus!
