Retail Merchandiser

Description:

The Field Merchandiser is responsible for increasing retail revenue, improving retail compliance, elevating the member experience, reducing shrinkage, and enabling General Managers (GM) and Assistant General Managers (AGM) to focus on other operational areas. This role acts as a liaison between the retail support center and the field to ensure higher compliance with key performance indicators (KPIs). This role can be based out of Austin or San Antonio.


Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management: Subject Matter Expert

  • Lead and assist in training new GM/AGM/FMD team members on inventory management practices.
  • Support gyms during inventory weeks by ensuring successful data uploads, reviewing variances, and performing spot checks.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for questions or support during inventory.
  • Suggest threshold adjustments based on inventory trends to improve accuracy and compliance.
  • Facilitate gym-to-gym transfers and coordinate spot check reminders and Unreceived PO reports.


Merchandising and Product Management: Retail Guidelines and Planogram (POG) Expert

  • Oversee and execute floor resets, ensuring adherence to POG standards while accommodating gym-specific needs.
  • Ensure that new products are properly set up and displayed to standard in each gym.
  • Verify the correct point-of-purchase (POP) displays are in place.
  • Conduct product sampling initiatives to enhance product awareness.
  • Order necessary supplies, tools, and marketing materials to ensure proper merchandising.
  • Communicate fixture and equipment needs to the support team to ensure availability.
  • Assist with the rollout of expanded regional merchandise, including name-drop promotions.


New Gym Openings and Trade Show Support

  • Assist during new gym openings by ordering and setting up fixtures, supplies, and merchandise.
  • Support trade show events by managing booth setup and participating in shifts.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in retail operations, inventory management, or merchandising.
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs, including revenue generation, compliance, shrinkage reduction, and inventory accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with retail systems, POS systems, and planogram tools.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise and fixtures, as needed, for new gym openings and events.
  • Flexibility to travel to different gym locations as required.
