RK&K is seeking a highly motivated Traffic Engineer with 7 to 10 years of experience, including extensive knowledge of work zone traffic control. RK&K offers high-profile services through various traffic engineering contracts for diverse clients, with an increasing demand for experts in work zone traffic control due to safety mandates and technological advancements. As a Traffic Engineer, you will collaborate with a talented team and utilize state-of-the-art software to deliver impactful projects.Essential FunctionsPerform research to analyze work zone traffic control methodologies, principles, products, and applications.Create policies, guidelines, and standards to enhance work zone safety and efficiency.Evaluate and improve existing work zone standards and traffic control plans through stakeholder collaboration.Develop maintenance of traffic plans for major projects, considering workers, vehicles, and vulnerable road users.Design and implement ITS work zone applications to improve traveler information.Assist with Speed Safety Camera programs, including management and vendor coordination.Conduct site visits, field investigations, and monitor camera installations.Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.P.E. license.7-10 years of traffic engineering experience, especially in work zones.Strong communication and presentation skills.Excellent problem-solving and data analysis abilities.Knowledge of work zone traffic control strategies and relevant standards (e.g., MUTCD).Preferred QualificationsProject management experience.Familiarity with state and local traffic standards.Other DutiesThis description covers general responsibilities and is not exhaustive.
