Our DOS must be a proven salesperson and an effective leader who can manage, mentor, train, and inspire a results-driven team. You will develop sales strategies, pursue leisure/transient and group business to maximize hotel revenue, and create the sales forecast for the annual budget.

Responsibilities + Authorities:

  • Treat guests with courtesy and respect.
  • Display honesty and integrity.
  • Willing to travel to Portland for sales meetings.
  • Be a hands-on leader who motivates the team to succeed and exceed expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, partners, clients, and vendors.

Specific Duties:

  • Conduct site inspections and sell all facets of the hotel to clients.
  • Handle account details, coordinate departmental participation, and document solicitation and closing efforts.
  • Deliver persuasive sales presentations and conduct outside calls to promote the hotel and review competitors.
  • Meet with and entertain clients as appropriate.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows and participate in setting up exhibits.
  • Achieve monthly revenue goals and increase market share.
  • Leverage tools and technology for prospecting and utilize relevant systems effectively.
  • Evaluate business opportunities and coordinate with GM and Revenue Manager.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor sales team members, fostering a strong team culture.
  • Participate in budgeting and ensure adherence to sales processes and deadlines.
  • Lead hotel meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Experience in local/regional markets is a plus.

Qualifications + Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Hotel Management, Travel/Tourism, Sales/Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years sales management experience in hospitality, with at least 2 years in a convention property.
  • Previous experience as a Hotel Sales Manager with a major hotel brand preferred.
  • At least 2 years managing a team of sales managers.
  • Experience in hotel and brand marketing, with some catering sales experience.
