Description:

CenTex Air is actively looking to add field technicians to our team in Austin TX! We are focused on experienced and certified candidates with at least 3 years of experience as a commercial test and balance technician. Having strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and invest in yourself will help be successful in this position. Below is a summary description of our TAB Technician. Compensation is based upon experience - we promote and financially reward employees who pursue their air balancing certification.

Job Summary:

TAB Technicians are essential to our business representing the company in the field as liaisons between customers and our project management team. Primarily responsible for accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform testing, adjusting and balancing for commercial HVAC systems
  • Key role between customer projects and office project management team.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years experience as a commercial HVAC test and balance technician.
  • Capable of creating complete and professional-looking test and balance reports.
  • Mechanical experience helpful.
  • Mechanical, electrical and controls knowledge helpful.
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and a high level of self-accountability, accuracy with reporting
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of integrity and sense of pride in workmanship
  • Proven ability to work independently and in collaboration with other technicians/team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills required
  • OSHA 10 – Construction Safety & Health proof of training required prior to employment (can be easily taken online through OSHA)
  • Must pass a driving and criminal record background check

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires ability to climb various height ladders
  • Average lift less than 20 lbs. Maximum unassisted lift 50 lbs.
  • Drive commercial van

  • Company provides calibrated testing equipment, laptop, and safety/field dress attire
  • Employee to provide small hand tools and smart phone (iPhone/Samsung)
  • Company encourages and supports technicians to become NEBB Certified Technicians (providing extensive in-house and field training to prepare and successfully pass exam)
