Software Engineer - Developer Experience Platform, AiDP

Description

The Developer Experience Platform team provides frameworks, services, and developer tools to internal engineering teams at Apple to accelerate their SDLC. We are working on a Generative AI-based Developer Experience Platform for internal use to assist our app development team. This role involves multiple aspects of the backend, such as ensuring LLM-based code generation is accurate and integrating with various enterprise services. You will collaborate with Machine Learning engineers, Software engineers, and data scientists to deliver an end-to-end solution for this platform. This is a hands-on role for developing and supporting new and existing features. This role requires partnering with cross-functional teams to effectively coordinate the complex interdependencies inherent in application development.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or related experience.
• Programming skills in Python. Experience developing scalable and robust services with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Experience in Machine Learning with a particular emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and Generative AI.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or related experience.
• Familiarity with large language model frameworks for evaluating and fine-tuning models.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of building enterprise-grade ML pipelines (data prep, distributed training, optimization, monitoring) in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Collaborative mindset to brainstorm on architectural patterns to arrive at the best approach. Keen interest in keeping up with the latest in the industry.
• Experience working on platform engineering or a developer experience platform is a plus.
