The Engineer III, R&D Technology is responsible for research, design, prototyping, and testing. This position requires a very developed technical background with the ability to integrate software, firmware, mechanical, electrical, and imaging technology. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Research Evaluate and analyze positive and negative aspects of competing technologies or solutions Grow industry expertise through trade show attendance, conference presentations, and peer-reviewed publications Generate new research ideas in line with company growth areas Design Conceptualize innovative solutions and exhibit problem-solving skills as needed by projects Propose solutions by utilizing proper modeling techniques such as CAD, Monte-Carlo, etc. Work with engineering, operations, sales, and product development teams to optimize design approach Utilize external software, research, and leverage industry partners as needed Prototyping Implement technology-based solutions for railroad industry including ...Technology, Engineer, R&D, Technical, Mechanical, Operations, Transportation
