Primary Purpose:Manage and supervise the planning and payroll functions for the district. Provide leadership and direction to improve efficiencies and align with District goals. Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.Major Responsibilities:Supervise and control payroll preparation and distribution: ensure accuracy of payroll data input and calculation, ensure adherence to standards and procedures, takes steps to correct problems, delays and inaccuraciesEnsure preparation and transmission of a variety of monthly, quarterly and annual reports; including federal 941 forms, unemployment reports, W-2 formsCoordinate departmental activities with other departments and/or administrators and provide assistance to requesting departmentsDevelop and maintain payroll operations with accounting, business, benefits and human resource servicesCollaborate effectively with other departments to ensure proper payroll operations and systematic consistencyReconcile payroll liability general ledger accountsMake related transfers of funds and deposits for all payroll activitiesAudit payroll actions from position control including all documents received by district employees; such as W-4, direct deposit and othersSupervise and maintain payroll processing and production including regular, special and/or supplemental payrollsAnalyze, verify and review all payroll run activitiesProvide excellent in customer service when working with employees and other campuses and/or departmentsTrain team members; ensure cross training among staff members for seamless processes and servicesEnsure appropriate training of campus and district staff in necessary practices for payrollResearch, recommend, implement and administer District and departments policies by complying with federal, state and local regulationsFollow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulationsPerform other duties, as assignedQualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field and three years related experience, including at least two years in supervisor capacity, preferably with a governmental or public education agency. TASBO certification, CPA, and/or CPP, preferred.Salary Range: $104,970 - $142,016 (Based on the 2024-2025 school year compensation plan; salary range may change for the 2025-2026 school year)Salary Dependent Upon ExperienceBenefits: Please visit our Benefits page for full details.
