Job Summary

The Employee Training Instructional Designer supports the Organizational Development team by designing and developing high-quality, engaging learning programs and materials tailored to diverse audiences. This role partners with stakeholders to implement instructional design best practices for both instructor-led (in-person and virtual) and eLearning formats. The position plays a key role in advancing talent management initiatives through innovative, effective training solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Professional Development Lead, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and internal stakeholders to design and develop learning content across multiple modalities.
  • Apply the ADDIE model and adult learning principles to guide instructional design.
  • Design and produce learning resources using print, graphics, video, audio, and animation tools.
  • Develop and revise instructional content including facilitator guides, participant materials, and job aids.
  • Create and maintain eLearning courses using tools like Articulate and Camtasia.
  • Manage the entire course design process from conception through implementation and evaluation.
  • Work with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Content Management Systems to publish and maintain training content.
  • Regularly review and enhance existing training materials to ensure relevance, engagement, and effectiveness.
  • Stay current with new instructional technologies and learning trends to support innovation.
  • Provide recommendations on curriculum strategy, tools, and delivery methods.

  • Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Instructional/Curriculum Design, Instructional Technology, Human Resources Development, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
    • Minimum of 2 years of instructional design experience, specifically in developing and delivering instructor-led and eLearning content.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience with LMS platforms (Cornerstone preferred) and multimedia authoring tools such as PowerPoint, Articulate, and Camtasia.
    • Proven experience in developing SCORM-compliant training content.
    • Strong communication, technical writing, and collaboration skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
    • Working knowledge of graphic design and multimedia production.


    Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Cornerstone LMS.
  • Experience in corporate training or talent development environments.
  • Project management experience related to curriculum design and training deployment.
  • Familiarity with developing technologies for training (e.g., VR/AR, gamification tools).


  • Certifications
  • None required, though certifications in instructional design (e.g., CPLP, APTD) or eLearning development tools are a plus.
