Job Summary

The Employee Training Instructional Designer supports the Organizational Development team by designing and developing high-quality, engaging learning programs and materials tailored to diverse audiences. This role partners with stakeholders to implement instructional design best practices for both instructor-led (in-person and virtual) and eLearning formats. The position plays a key role in advancing talent management initiatives through innovative, effective training solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Professional Development Lead, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and internal stakeholders to design and develop learning content across multiple modalities.

Apply the ADDIE model and adult learning principles to guide instructional design.

Design and produce learning resources using print, graphics, video, audio, and animation tools.

Develop and revise instructional content including facilitator guides, participant materials, and job aids.

Create and maintain eLearning courses using tools like Articulate and Camtasia.

Manage the entire course design process from conception through implementation and evaluation.

Work with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Content Management Systems to publish and maintain training content.

Regularly review and enhance existing training materials to ensure relevance, engagement, and effectiveness.

Stay current with new instructional technologies and learning trends to support innovation.

Provide recommendations on curriculum strategy, tools, and delivery methods.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Instructional/Curriculum Design, Instructional Technology, Human Resources Development, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum of 2 years of instructional design experience, specifically in developing and delivering instructor-led and eLearning content.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with LMS platforms (Cornerstone preferred) and multimedia authoring tools such as PowerPoint, Articulate, and Camtasia.
• Proven experience in developing SCORM-compliant training content.
• Strong communication, technical writing, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Working knowledge of graphic design and multimedia production.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using Cornerstone LMS.

Experience in corporate training or talent development environments.

Project management experience related to curriculum design and training deployment.

Familiarity with developing technologies for training (e.g., VR/AR, gamification tools).

Certifications

None required, though certifications in instructional design (e.g., CPLP, APTD) or eLearning development tools are a plus.
