Join us at Hanson as a Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager and lead transformative projects from start to finish. You will manage the entire project lifecycle, ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to Hanson's standards. Your expertise will guide scope, budget, schedule, quality, communication, risk management, and health and safety.

This role focuses on developing our civil engineering practice with TXDOT and expanding our business in Austin and across central to south Texas. You will identify growth opportunities and foster relationships with clients, stakeholders, and community leaders. The position may require occasional overtime during critical periods.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technical staff and contractors to develop reports, plans, and specifications aligned with TXDOT guidelines.
  • Engage with TXDOT and clients to understand project scope and regulatory needs.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in Austin, building strong relationships.
  • Delegate tasks and foster team growth.
  • Attract and retain industry talent for the Texas team.
  • Monitor project performance and ensure compliance with TXDOT standards.
  • Manage budgets and financial targets according to TXDOT protocols.
  • Create detailed project plans aligned with TXDOT timelines.
  • Lead project meetings and provide strategic direction.
  • Adapt and take on additional duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven ability to build client relationships with TXDOT.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and aligning results with organizational goals.
  • Skilled in scope and fee development for complex service agreements.
  • Experience developing comprehensive project management plans including risk, change, and communication management.
  • Knowledge of TXDOT standards and quality control procedures.
  • Understanding of client and subcontractor agreements and contract risk review.
  • Financial analysis skills relevant to project accounting, including earned value, scheduling, and billing processes.
