Role Overview

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll lead development of backend services and search platforms, impacting millions of users. Focus areas include building scalable, high-performance search functionalities, integrating machine learning models, and fostering innovation using technologies like AWS, Elasticsearch, and Node.js.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and development of scalable backend and search functionalities.
• Develop AI-native services.
• Design and optimize high-performance search platforms with Elasticsearch.
• Collaborate across teams to drive product innovation, scalability, and performance.
• Own complex feature development, including data pipelines and ML model integration.
• Optimize performance for low-latency and high availability.
• Mentor and guide engineering team members.
• Contribute to technical roadmap and long-term architecture vision.
• Participate in hiring and fostering a collaborative culture.

Work Environment

We promote a balance of in-person collaboration and flexibility, with most roles requiring three or more days in our offices to enhance team culture.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in building scalable search platforms and backend services.
• Proven leadership in delivering complex features with high quality and scalability.
• Experience with LLM, RAG, Gen-AI is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• 7+ years in software development, with expertise in Elasticsearch, Solr, and backend services.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Proficiency in designing data pipelines and integrating ML models.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
