Title: Transfer Admission Counselor

Department: Admission/Enrollment Management

St. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position of Transfer Admission Counselor. The Transfer Admission Counselor will recruit qualified undergraduate transfer students. Serving as a primary point of contact for prospective students and their families, the counselor will communicate the University's academic programs, scholarships, and opportunities while guiding students through the enrollment process. This role includes meeting recruitment goals within assigned territories, developing outreach strategies, and collaborating with faculty, staff, and external partners to deliver effective recruiting messages and events. By building connections with community colleges, high schools, and community organizations, the counselor will help elevate the reputation of St. Edward's and strengthen transfer pathways for new student enrollment and degree completion.

For consideration, Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred as well as experience working in the field of college admission, recruiting or sales.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Strategically manage the recruitment efforts in an assigned territory, communicating the University's academic programs, scholarships, and opportunities.
  • Represent the university among important constituents-including alumni, parents, community college administrators and advisors.
  • Bring awareness to the university by participating in conferences, panel discussions, case studies, etc.
  • Assist in the smooth operation of the admission function.
  • Conduct preliminary degree audits for prospective undergraduate students.
  • Assist with higher level strategic projects.
  • Provide support for financial aid in conversations with prospective students and parents on affordability and cost.
  • Work closely with faculty, staff, and academic leadership across all schools at St. Edward's to assist students through the multi-step processes of admission to the university and their chosen undergraduate programs.
  • Participate in event planning and related recruitment projects.
  • Articulate information about the university and its programs, in formal and informal settings, often by giving presentations to various groups.
  • Other duties as assigned, trained for and qualified to do.
