Description:

We are assisting our client in the search for a Data Engineering Manager to lead complex data conversion initiatives from planning through execution. This role combines technical delivery expertise with leadership, ensuring scalable, modern, and reliable solutions are delivered on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of data transformation, integration, and quality, along with experience managing cross-functional delivery teams in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of data conversion solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor and guide delivery teams, drive collaboration, and support a high-performance culture focused on quality and results.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and advocate for scalable, decoupled architectures and automation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous delivery through planning, retrospectives, and team collaboration.
  • Address technical challenges during implementation and provide post-go-live support to minimize disruption.
  • Maintain clear documentation of technical specifications, system workflows, and conversion processes.
  • Ensure data accuracy and system stability through rigorous testing, validation, and code review practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of management experience with 8-12 years in technical delivery roles
  • Proven track record in data conversion and integration projects
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, structured/semi-structured data (CSV, JSON, XML), and data cleansing/mapping
  • Experience working with sensitive data (financial, PII) in a secure environment
  • Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, S3) and API integrations
  • Hands-on experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and SDLC processes
  • Proficiency in Jira or similar project management tools
  • Understanding of version control, deployment, and testing frameworks
  • Background in insurance or financial services
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certification

Compensation: $140,000-165,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
