Phlebotomist Job Description

We're expanding our team and looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our clinic. This role is ideal for someone who brings both technical precision and a calm, reassuring presence to every patient interaction. You'll play a key role in specimen collection and processing, while also supporting workflow improvements and team training.

Responsibilities:

• Perform venipunctures using straight and butterfly needles with accuracy and care.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and store specimens according to test requirements.
• Maintain and decontaminate equipment, and ensure proper documentation.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients and caregivers about procedures.
• Follow physicians' orders and verify requisition forms against specimen tubes.
• Package and prepare specimens for transport, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
• Respond to phone inquiries and relay lab results professionally.

Essential Skills:

• 1+ years of experience with phlebotomy
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong phlebotomy technique and attention to detail.
• Ability to troubleshoot and suggest workflow improvements.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leander, TX.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
