JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Facilities Custodian/Handyman

Department: Facilities

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

The Facilities Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for our clients and staff. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning duties to ensure the facility meets sanitation standards and supports the recovery journey of our clients. This ideal candidate will be diligent, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming the floor.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, equipment, and furnishings.
  • Empty trash and recyclables, manage and maintain the cleanliness of outside in the dumpster
  • area.
  • Replenishing supplies and monitor inventory levels of supplies and submit requisition for
  • replenishment as needed.
  • Clean and disinfect client rooms, treatment areas, and common areas on a regular basis,
  • following infection control protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, ensuring that fixtures, surfaces, and floors are
  • thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling and storing cleaning products and equipment,

  • Monitor expenses and adhere to the budget for maintenance.
  • Create relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or incidents to appropriate supervisor

  • Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate cleaning schedules and ensure
  • efficient workflow.
  • Maintain and keep up with all company related property as needed.
  • Uphold HIPAA confidentiality policy and respect the privacy of patients, staff and

  • Assist with event setups, including chairs, tables or equipment.
  • Respond to emergencies such as spills, flooding, or other facility related issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the building's exterior, including walkways, parking areas are clean, safe, and welcoming.
  • Replace filters, tighten fittings, and adjust minor mechanical systems as needed.
  • Assist with assembling and moving furniture or office equipment as required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) as well as web-based email.
