Technical Documentation Specialist

Produce and maintain system architecture overviews, data flow diagrams, and data lifecycle documentation. Create detailed documentation for ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, integrations, schedules, and dependencies. Document data models, including entities, attributes, relationships, and lineage. Develop user guides, technical reference manuals, and runbooks for operational support teams. Record business logic implemented in data transformation processes and analytics layers. Maintain knowledge repositories (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint) with well-organized technical artifacts. Conduct interviews and technical walkthroughs with engineers and architects to fill documentation gaps. Review existing documentation, identify inconsistencies or missing details, and update accordingly. Produce release notes, solution summaries, and change impact documentation for deployed enhancements.

Skills and Requirements: 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Writer, or Documentation Specialist in IT or Data & Analytics environments. Strong understanding of data concepts, including ETL processes, data models, APIs, integrations, and reporting architectures. Proven ability to create clear, structured technical documentation for complex systems. Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps). Experience working alongside data engineers, architects, and development teams to interpret technical designs. Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar. Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail and information organization. Ability to analyze existing solutions and reverse-engineer processes to document technical logic. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Technical Communication, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
