Facilities Electrician

This contract position focuses on installing and troubleshooting electrical power systems, primarily setting up new power circuits for machinery and equipment. The role supports the Cedar Park locations, ensuring safe and reliable operation of facilities and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical power systems including transformers, circuit breakers, relays, capacitors, PLCs, and motor starters.
  • Interpret drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical code specifications.
  • Conduct testing and diagnostic procedures to identify faults, malfunctions, and electrical issues in power systems.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and procedures when working with high voltage systems.
  • Recommend and perform repairs, replacements, and upgrades to electrical power systems and components.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of electrical work performed, including reports, service records, and equipment maintenance logs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and contractors to coordinate work and ensure effective communication regarding electrical projects.
  • Provide additional support to the Instrumentation & Controls team with low voltage control systems.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Facilities Electrician or similar role (commercial or industrial).
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of electrical power systems, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience with installing and maintaining electrical systems in buildings and grounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional vocational or technical training in electrical systems is preferred.
  • HVAC experience is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting project requirements.
  • Physical ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.

Work Environment

First shift opportunity, Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, with potential overtime during the week and possibly on Saturdays. The position is based at the Cedar Park locations, working closely with another electrician on staff.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cedar Park, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $46.00/hr.
