GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Our mission at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is to serve, protect and advance the citizens and industries in the state with quality motor vehicle related services. We are a dynamic state agency dedicated to customer service, consumer protection and the success of motor vehicle-related industries.
Performs moderately complex (journey-level) consultative service and technical assistance work for the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), Motor Vehicle Division (MVD). Work involves disseminating information, maintaining filing and record-keeping systems, and performing internal and external administrative support work. Provides customer service for both internal and external customers. Responds to customer inquiries both verbally and in writing. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Coordinates processing of incoming mail and faxes sent to MVD, including logging mail received by the division, scanning documents, and sending to appropriate staff or folders.
Reconciles application fee payments daily in the eLICENSING system. Researches reconciliation discrepancies and reports findings.

Assists in analyzing payments made in connection with applications submitted to MVD and ensures compliance with requirements under TxDMV Board rules, applicable statutes, and TxDMV's overall anti-fraud strategy.
Responds to internal and external customer inquiries regarding a variety of issues relevant to MVD business operations, including inquiries on licenses or payments and requests for correspondence pertaining to licenses.
Works with team members to appropriately resolve licensing-related questions and payment issues. Updates and informs management of potential issues.
Provides support as needed for refund processing and other TxDMV Finance-related program areas.
Processes all assigned work as instructed by the assigned deadline.
Researches and collects information for reports or other needs and assists with special projects.
May travel up to 5% of the time. Travels by car (may include flying). May include overnight travel. May require working extended hours and some evenings and weekends, as needed.
Required to attend work regularly and adheres to approved work hours in accordance with department policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge - Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures; knowledge of customer service techniques.
Skill - Skill in the use of standard office equipment and software; skill in customer service and providing accurate, timely information to internal and external customers; skill in written and verbal communications.
Abilities - Ability to communicate effectively; ability to gather, correlate, and analyze information, ability to evaluate the effectiveness of new administrative systems and procedures, ability to set work priorities, ability to collaborate with a team effectively.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Education - Graduation from standard high school or equivalent required.
Experience - Minimum four (4) years' responsible clerical, or administrative support experience using a computer.
Licensure and/or Certification - If driving is required, must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence.
Regulatory Knowledge - Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TxDMV, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.

REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSURE
