Sewing Machine And Digital Technician (Hourly)
Responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of the technology, equipment, and facilities of the Fashion Incubator. Reporting to the ACC Fashion Incubator Program Manager for the Digital Fashion Academy, will train and support students, faculty, staff and vendors with safely maintained equipment and technology processes. ACC Fashion Incubator's primary programs are an incubator for small business development and a high-tech digital fashion training facility for ACC students.
Description of Duties and Tasks:
- Supporting day-to-day activities and services of the Fashion Incubator (Design Lab, Studio, and any other temporary or remote operation) including, but not limited to Lab equipment, Lab student staff, partner companies, and instructional/training lab activities during those hours.
- Assisting partner (incubator) companies, including prototyping, product development, production support, training, and consulting where appropriate.
- Monitoring the Fashion Incubator spaces (permanent and temporary) to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Promoting safe lab practices among partner companies, faculty, staff, and students.
- Maintaining a safe and compliant workspace for partner companies, students, faculty, and other users of the Lab. Utilizing the college's maintenance request systems as needed.
- Maintaining inventory of equipment, software, supplies, and materials and providing reports on utilization.
- Supporting populating, managing, and operating online scheduling, equipment, and training systems.
- Researching and recommending new hardware, software, equipment, and lab services based on experience and interaction with lab partners.
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed on applicable equipment. Arranging repair or maintenance services as required.
- Responsible for providing training to students and faculty in the safe and proper use of the equipment and lab facilities.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director.
Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of fashion production planning including traditional and innovative methods.
- Familiarity with fashion manufacturing and merchandising practices and processes.
Skills:
- Maintaining an established work schedule including some evenings and weekends to support partner and student needs.

Technology Skills:
- Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
- Use of industrial grade sewing equipment
Required Work Experience:
- One year of related work experience.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Office, Google Workspace, digital community management (e.g. Slack), and video conferencing required. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Project Management Software applications, and Gerber Technology are preferred, and will be expected to be acquired in the role.
Required Education:
- Associate Degree in Fashion Design, Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing or related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
Pay Rate: $24.10/hour
