We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Lead Server. This person will have a genuine interest in geriatric care and be able to motivate while maintaining relationships with staff and residents. The right candidate will always strive to do the best job possible, to be creative, and to work towards accomplishing facility goals.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Dining Room Manager, the Lead Server is to courteously and professionally serve all residents and their guest's meals in the dining rooms. The server maintains a neat and orderly work area and informs their Supervisor of food needs and resident questions and concerns that they are unable to answer. Set up, serve, and break down special functions.

Accountabilities:

  • Is courteous, knowledgeable of the menu, and professional at all times when serving a customer
  • Familiarizes new servers with all dining policies and procedures
  • Trains new servers on proper service techniques, and ensures that new staff are trained
  • Informs Dining Room Manager on the status of new trainees
  • Performs pre-opening and closing checklist duties as assigned
  • Alerts a supervisor of any concerns or problems pertaining to residents and guests
  • Attends in-service training seminars when scheduled
  • Must work one weekend shift per week
  • Takes food and beverage orders and provides service to residents and guests in all dining venues
  • Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in compliance with OSHA safety standards
  • Cooperates and coordinates work activities with co-workers to ensure a smooth run department
  • Follows outlined Policies and Procedures for Dining Services Department

Qualifications:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent, but not necessary.
  2. Must be 18 years of age or older to serve alcohol.
  3. Must be able to read, write and follow written and verbal directions.
  4. Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and work cooperatively with other associates.
  5. Must be able to lift 20 lbs to shoulder height.
  6. Must be able to push 200 lbs on a cart with casters.
