Maintenance Technician - ROOST Rainey

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the building, guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas remain in excellent working condition. This role supports day-to-day operations by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and responding quickly to guest and team requests. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, service-driven team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily repairs and maintenance across the property, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building upkeep.
  • Complete work orders promptly and accurately, ensuring professional communication with staff and guests.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on equipment, guest rooms, and common areas to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Support turnover of apartments/guest suites, including minor repairs, fixture replacements, and general touch-ups.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop, tools, and inventory.
  • Inspect the property regularly, identifying areas needing repair or improvement.
  • Assist with life-safety protocols and building systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and emergency procedures.
  • Partner with third-party vendors, contractors, and building management as needed.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls when assigned (some on-call rotation may be required).
  • Ensure all work adheres to brand standards, safety regulations, and local building codes.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of maintenance or building engineering experience, preferably in hospitality, residential, or commercial property management.
  • Working knowledge of basic trades including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.
  • Strong customer service mindset and comfort interacting with guests/residents.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and perform hands-on tasks.
  • HVAC/EPA certification a plus but not required.
  • Flexibility to work weekends or evenings depending on operational needs.
