Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Lead Central Sterile Technician, you'll help deliver safe, high-quality care by ensuring surgical instruments and supplies are expertly cleaned, sterilized, and ready to use. With strong attention to detail and by leading through example, you'll help create a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement that drives excellent outcomes and improves lives every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the preparation, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies, making sure all items are properly cleaned and ready for use.
• Organizing instruments and equipment based on surgery schedules and special case needs.
• Monitoring sterilization processes and equipment performance, keeping accurate records, and promptly reporting any issues.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked workspace that supports the team and upholds the highest infection control standards.
• Training and supporting team members to work safely, follow best practices, and care for every patient like family.

What qualifications you will need:

• 1 year of previous experience working with instrumentation and infection control procedures.
• 3 years of previous experience working with instrumentation and infection control procedures preferred.
• Certification in Healthcare Leadership (CHL) through International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) preferred.
• Sterile Processing Technician certification from International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSSM) OR Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required within 6 months of hire.
• High school graduate/GED.
• 1 year of college in a related field preferred.
