Warehouse Maintenance Technician

Description:

The Warehouse Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing mid-level maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance work to support the ongoing functionality and safety of warehouse operations. The position operates with minimal supervision on standard assignments and collaborates with leadership, vendors, and internal teams on advanced maintenance needs related to facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on warehouse facilities, including:
  • Dock doors and levelers
  • Racking systems (visual inspections and minor repairs)
  • Lighting systems (LED, ballasts, fixtures)
  • Plumbing fixtures and minor pipe repairs
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting (120/208/240V)
  • Conduct routine inspections of warehouse equipment and building systems; document findings and corrective actions.
  • Perform minor HVAC maintenance (filters, belts, visual inspections, thermostat checks).
  • Respond to maintenance work orders and prioritize tasks based on operational impact and safety.
  • Support maintenance of material handling equipment (conveyors, pallet jacks, stretch wrappers, compactor/baler systems) within scope of training.
  • Assist with facility projects such as layout changes, repairs, and seasonal readiness.
  • Maintain clean, organized maintenance shop and equipment areas.
  • Participate in emergency response and on-call rotation as needed.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and escort contractors as required.
  • Maintain accurate work order documentation in CMMS.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Mechanical systems
    • Basic electrical and plumbing
    • Building maintenance best practices
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and safety procedures.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Experience using a CMMS or work order system.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work occasional after-hours, or weekends, to support operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Forklift or aerial lift certification
  • Basic HVAC or electrical certification
  • Experience supporting high-volume distribution or logistics operations
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles.
  • Ability to work in a industrial warehouse environment.
