Job Title: Barista

Location: Austin, TX

Shift: M-F 8am - 12pm

Pay Range: $17 - $18/hr

Employment Type: Part-time, long-term contract

Summary

As a Corporate Barista, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the coffee experience for employees and visitors at our corporate headquarters. You will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee beverages, maintaining a clean and organized coffee station, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires a passion for coffee, attention to detail, and a friendly, welcoming demeanor.

What You'll Do

Coffee Preparation:

  • Prepare a variety of coffee and espresso beverages according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure coffee beans are ground and brewed to perfection, consistently delivering high-quality drinks.
  • Maintain knowledge of different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods.
Customer Service:
  • Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist customers in choosing beverages and provide recommendations.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests effectively.
Cleanliness and Maintenance:
  • Keep the coffee station clean, sanitized, and well-organized at all times.
  • Regularly clean coffee machines, grinders, and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and replenish coffee bean and supplies inventory as needed.
Menu Knowledge:
  • Stay informed about the coffee menu, including seasonal specials and promotions.
  • Educate customers about the coffee offerings and flavor profiles.
Quality Control:
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of coffee beverages, adjusting as needed.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other food service staff to provide a seamless dining experience.
  • Assist in cross-training and supporting other areas of food service when necessary.
Professional Development:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new coffee blends, and brewing techniques.
  • Attend training sessions and workshops as required
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a barista, preferably in a corporate or specialty coffee setting.
  • Knowledge of coffee beans, roasting methods, and brewing techniques.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills for inventory management.
  • Food safety and hygiene certification is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work shifts that may include early mornings and occasional weekends.
