Position Overview

We are seeking a precision Engine Assembly Technician to support the build and scale-up of advanced engine and power generation systems.

This is not traditional production assembly. The role requires technicians who are comfortable working in highly disciplined environments where alignment, tolerance control, sealing integrity, and build accuracy directly impact system performance.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting aerospace, propulsion, aircraft, defense, semiconductor, or other high-spec mechanical builds and understands the importance of executing work instructions correctly the first time.

This role is best suited for technicians who take pride in craftsmanship, precision, and accountability.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assemble precision mechanical subassemblies and engine modules in a controlled bench-build environment
  • Execute builds requiring tight tolerances and careful tolerance stack-up management
  • Perform component alignment where small deviations can impact performance
  • Install hardware, fasteners, and sealing systems per detailed work instructions
  • Apply torque values and fastening sequences with high accuracy
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and controlled documentation
  • Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, feeler gauges) to verify fitment
  • Maintain strict cleanliness standards to protect critical surfaces and interfaces
  • Complete in-process inspections and accurately document build results
  • Identify fitment or tolerance risks and escalate appropriately
  • Support test readiness, teardown, inspection, and rebuild activities as designs evolve
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve build processes

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of hands-on precision mechanical assembly experience
  • Proven experience working to tight tolerances in a regulated or high-spec environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and disciplined build habits
  • Experience using precision measuring tools
  • Ability to read and follow detailed mechanical drawings and work instructions
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Comfortable working in structured, process-driven environments
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a team

Strongly Preferred

(Candidates with these backgrounds tend to ramp fastest and perform best.)

  • Aerospace, aircraft, propulsion, defense, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing experience
  • Engine, turbine, flight hardware, or pressure-system assembly
  • Experience supporting prototype, pilot, or R&D builds
  • Exposure to sealing surfaces, pressurized systems, or critical interfaces
  • Prior work in environments requiring strict documentation and configuration control
  • Military aviation or aircraft maintenance experience

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Cleanroom or controlled-build experience
  • Basic electrical or harness routing exposure
  • GD&T familiarity
