We are seeking an Electrician Apprentice I to join our team. The Electrician Apprentice I assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems under the supervision of a journeyman electrician. This role is an entry- level position designed to develop foundational skills in the electrical trade while ensuring adherence to safety standards and industry regulations.
Assists with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, including wiring, transformers, switchgear, motors, and other electrical components.
Supports bending and installing various types of conduit, including EMT, rigid, and PVC.
Learns to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, assisting in recommending solutions.
Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams under the supervision of a journeyman or foreman.
Follows industry standards and regulations to ensure electrical installations meet safety requirements.
Conducts regular inspections of electrical systems to maintain compliance with safety regulations.
Coordinates with other trades and contractors on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
Participates in training and mentorship programs to enhance knowledge and skills in the electrical trade.
Maintains accurate records of electrical work performed, tools used, and materials handled.
Minimum:
High school diploma or GED.
Must hold a valid Apprentice Electrician License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and maintain it in active status throughout employment.
Enrollment in or willingness to join an accredited electrical apprenticeship program.
Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
Prior experience in construction or related trades.
Familiarity with electrical tools, equipment, and materials.
Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in the successful performance of the job. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a one-for-one year basis or vice versa.
Knowledge of basic electrical principles, industry safety standards, and best practices.
Skill in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment relevant to electrical work.
Ability to follow instructions, read technical diagrams, and work efficiently as part of a team.
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and operate at heights as required.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow safety protocols at all times.
Medium work environment. Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to uncomfortable and hazardous physical, ergonomic, and/or emotional environment. Work requires lifting up to 50 pounds and wearing protective equipment; exposure to environmental conditions, weather, climbing, crawling, lying, and working under pressure.
