Job Title: Assembly Technician Job Description

The manufacturing and assembly technician will work in a team-building environment on the production floor in the areas of assembly, fabrication, or other production areas, ensuring safety, quality, and standard work protocols are followed. Technicians use basic tools to accurately assemble both purchased and manufactured parts into finished products. This role will primarily encompass the frequent assembling of several different sub-assemblies, which may include mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical parts. Initially, the role will involve heavy assemblies, requiring the ability to routinely lift and maneuver approximately 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
Support work area safety, cleanliness, material usage, and shop organization.
Conduct production assembly work, rework, troubleshooting, in-process repair, and documentation of assembly improvements.
Perform equipment setup, operation, adjustments, and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Regularly assemble pipe fittings and conduct additional sub-assembly and final-assembly mechanical tasks.
Document results during and post-engineering development builds in a clear and concise manner.
Essential Skills
2+ years experience with heavy mechanical assemblies.
Mechanically inclined.
Proficient with hand and power tools.
Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, models, and work instructions.
Basic computer literacy.
Comfortable performing 'dirty work' such as cleaning residue from replaced parts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with hydraulics or hydraulic assembly preferred.
Electrical wiring installation.
Experience in operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on platforms above 10 feet.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to share feedback in group settings.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, analytical, and reasoning skills.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and follow both written and verbal instructions.
Comfortable with frequent changes of direction and dynamic work environments.

Work Environment
This position operates on the 2nd shift, from 3 pm to 11:30 pm, including overtime and weekends. The facility includes climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled areas, with offices and break rooms that are climate-controlled. Note that it may be warm during summer months as the HVAC system isn't strong enough to maintain a cool environment consistently. This role begins as a 3-4 month project, with the potential for extension and conversion to full-time based on performance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
