Aerospace Manufacturing Technician - Day Shift

JOB SUMMARY:

As an Aerospace Manufacturing Technician, you will be integral to the fabrication of aerospace composite materials. This role encompasses various manufacturing processes such as pre-stacking, kitting, pressing, molding, and layup. You will receive comprehensive training to develop essential skills and may gain certification through experienced trainers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute layup and curing of composite parts utilizing prepreg fabric, uni-tape, SMC, BMC, and dry materials.
  • Assemble, demold, and bond components while performing finishing operations like filling, sanding, grinding, and cleaning.
  • Utilize hand and power tools effectively as well as measurement devices for production tasks.
  • Adhere to detailed written work instructions and procedures to ensure quality hardware production.
  • Complete and maintain production records and logs for material traceability.
  • Monitor and manage material shelf-life, identifying expired materials, and generate non-conformance reports as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with team leaders and project engineers to tackle production discrepancies.
  • Ensure tools, molds, and production equipment are kept in optimal condition.
  • Maintain organized and clean production work areas.
  • Facilitate the efficient flow of production parts across various operations.
  • Contribute to process improvements and actively recommend enhancements to management.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years in manufacturing, assembly, layup, or composite fabrication; aerospace experience is preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.
  • Skilled in using hand tools for production tasks.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as necessary.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized, self-directed, and possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities.
  • 9/80 Workweek Schedule available.
  • Pay Range: $23.00/hour - $28.00/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
