Shipping Clerk

Principal Duties and Responsibilities*:

• Responsible for daily shipment of product and documentation of shipments.
• Works closely with Customer Service representatives to ensure shipments meet customers' ever-changing priorities.
• Counts product, transacts order in ERP system, and prepares shipping documents.
• Maintains inventory of components and issues them to work orders.
• Selects appropriate packaging to ensure product is received with no damage.
• Assembles boxes, foam and other packaging materials.
• Prints and affixes labels to product.
• Maintains inventory of packaging and shipping supplies such as labels, trays and boxes.
• Keeps Shipping area clean and organized. Identifies opportunities for improving Shipping processes.
• Assists in other areas as assigned e.g. Receiving, Lapping, Clean Room etc.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses equipment such as computers, phones, packaging & kraft tape dispensers, and label printers. Shipping Clerk will need to occasionally lift and carry 60 pounds. May operate fork truck and/or pallet jack. Infrequent travel (<5%) is expected.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills:

• Computer skills (Excel, Labeling Software, Outlook, ERP System)
• Knowledge of shipping programs by UPS/FED EX etc.
• Good written and verbal communication
• Problem solving
• Conflict management
• Multi-tasking
• Attention to details
• Work well in a team environment

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of shipping experience preferred
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 Quality System is preferred.

International Trade in Arms Regulations (ITAR):

• Must be either; US Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
