Link Technologies (LinkTechConsulting.com), a Las Vegas-based IT consulting firm, is currently seeking a Database Administrator to join our team in Austin, TX. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week in office (Monday and Tuesday)
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in the following areas:
Strong knowledge of dataset management systems, as well as data warehouse management and decision support tools
Extensive experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data warehouse and data marts
Experience in business objects and in building the data dictionary
Ability to use database access tools for application delivery
Strong familiarity with analysis, planning, and management reporting functions
Well-developed oral and written communication skills
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Extremely high level analytical ability where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult
Understanding of benchmarking processes and techniques
Very high level interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output
Data warehousing, data population, and data modeling technical for target structures and star schemas, snowflake schemas, and highly normalized data models
GUI based ETL tools such as Informatica, IBM websphere datastage, or similar tools
Implementation experience with enterprise class databases (e.g. Teradata, oracle, SQL server, or similar technologies)
Implementation experience with analytical and reporting tools (e.g. business objects, cognos, hyperion, microstrategy, or similar tools)
Excellent analytical, problem solving, team playing, oral/written communication skills
Proven ability to work successfully with technical and non-technical groups and manage multiple responsibilities
PREFERRED
5+ years of experience in the following areas:
Oracle database experience
SSRS report creation
1+ years of experience with M204 databases
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the installation of database software and migrations to new data management system software levels, and tests the migrations to ensure data reliability and functionality
Analyzes, designs, modifies, and maintains, and maintains database structures
Designs and implements procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures
Establishes and implements database security controls and user access levels
Evaluates and recommends database software packages for potential acquisition
Prepares and develops database documentation, procedures, and definitions for data dictionaries
Performs logical and physical data modeling, designs relational database models, and creates physical data models from logical data models
Performs database performance monitoring and implements efficiency improvements
Assists in modifying existing database and database management systems
Assists in developing standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the database environment
