Senior Staff Accountant (Contract - 3 Months)

North Austin, TX (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Pay: $35-40/hour
LHH is partnering with a client in North Austin to identify a Senior Staff Accountant for a 3-month contract engagement. This role will focus heavily on general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations, while supporting broader accounting operations.
What You'll Be Doing
General Ledger & Month-End Close
- Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting
- Assist with month-end close, ensuring deadlines are met and processes run efficiently
- Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness
- Perform detailed bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Ensure supporting documentation is complete and audit-ready
- Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activity for accuracy
- Partner with AP/AR teams to resolve issues and ensure proper coding and posting
- Assist with improving processes and controls across transactional accounting
- Support preparation of internal financial reports and schedules
- Assist with variance analysis and provide insight into account fluctuations
- 4+ years of accounting experience, with strong GL focus
- Proven experience with month-end close and bank reconciliations
- Experience reviewing or supporting AP/AR functions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- ERP system experience (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, or similar preferred)
