Logistics Specialist

Position Description:

  • Attend production meeting and run daily shipment report from ERP system. Examine shipping contents and compare with packing slip from ERP system and invoice
  • Pull material for shipping includes outbound transfer orders both OTC and project
  • Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies
  • Prepares bills of lading, packing list and shipping orders to route materials
  • Ensure materials are packed/crated, seal, label or affix postage or prepare materials for shipping and ERP system. Depending on shipping vendor and method will use different computer application to process shipment
  • Ensure project items pass shipping audit with quality department
  • Using online shipping platform to work with freight carriers and book shipments. Compare shipping routes or methods to determine which have the least environmental and financial impact
  • Perform Restricted Party Screening and review and work with Import/Export Specialist with export compliance issues
  • Interfaces with departments, project managers and customer care to make arrangement and schedule shipment. Resolve shipping issues (credit hold, special shipping requests, duty free requests, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in Logistics
  • 3-5 years ERP experience
  • Proficient in MS Software
  • Able to operate forklift

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CSI9 experience
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • Certified to ship dangerous goods
