Yard Technician

The Yard Technician position supports the branch in all yard maintenance, upkeep, and repair needs. This position ensures that all rental equipment is ready for rent in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner. This role provides a great opportunity to learn and grow within our service department and beyond.

Primary duties include:

• Prepare equipment for rent as well as preparing loads for delivery with secure tie downs
• Load and unload trucks, working with management to maintain an accurate inventory
• Act as a liaison between the departments of the branch, to ensure expectations are met and exceeded in terms of the branch yard
• Maintain professional and ethical business relationships with all customers and co-workers following the established company policies and procedures
• Maintain upkeep of branch yard utilizing tools and equipment provided
• Maintain upkeep of branch yard, cleaning and organizing tools and equipment in a safe and proper manner
• Maintain upkeep of the forklift, pallet jack, and pressure washer ensuring they are always in good working order
• Performs minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment, reporting any higher-level maintenance needs
• Records and reports any physical damage to equipment received
• Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by Management

Education and skills required:

• Preferably, have a high school degree or equivalent
• Preferably, at least one year of forklift experience
• Must have ability to maintain safe, organized and clean working environment
• Must be able to multi-task and work on many different projects at one time
• Must be able to work independently, and in a team environment, to prioritize and accomplish assigned projects.
• Must be able to stand, sit, and kneel for long periods of time in all weather conditions
• Must be able to frequently lift 50+ lbs.
